I’m sorry Tom, but with all due respect, (which now allows me to say whatever I want to say, right?) do you think we are F-ing stupid? Ok, in all honesty, some are, at least enough to elect you, right, Tommy boy? But let me get this straight Tom, you and your pals just rammed through this Obamacare bill to the opposition of 60% of the country, with stated intentions of keeping the big, bad insurance companies from raising premiums? Am I wrong? Or did I miss something? Now you are going to try to pass a bill that….does what Obamacare supposedly did already?

People, this once and for all removes all doubt as to the intentions and goals of Obamacare: To destroy private insurance in America and bring about single payer, government-run health insurance. Some of us never doubted this, others of us are just now seeing the light. Now some may still say, “Jared you’re crazy, Obama doesn’t want to destroy private health insurance and have the government in control.” To you I say, you’re right. Obama doesn’t want to. Obama AND Barney Frank, AND tons of other socialists dressed in progressive clothing do. Don’t believe me still? Let’s let Barney and Barry tell you themselves what they think about destroying private and employer based health insurance.

Hear that? “We won’t be able to eliminate private health insurance immediately”  and “I happen to be a proponent of single-payer, government run healthcare”. Spooky ain’t it? He isn’t joking.

They are going to do it. That is their goal. DON’T DOUBT ME, PEOPLE.

Back to this bill Tom Harkin was talking about today. The only way to destroy private insurance is to make them unable to compete and unable to make a profit. The best way to make them unable to compete or make a profit?

1) Pass a bill entering the government into the health insurance business, with no goal of making a profit. CHECK!

2) In said bill, force private insurers to, among other demands, cover pre-existing conditions, thereby absolutely assuring an increase in premiums, in order to pay for the new coverage. CHECK!

3) Pass a bill that FORCES private insurance companies to keep premiums at a government acceptable rate, or face government fines, thereby bankrupting them or turning them essentially into non-profits. **IN PROGRESS**

There is no time to waste my friends. We must stop them now, and November is just the beginning! As the great Ronaldus Mangnus said, this is the last best stand for freedom on this earth. If it fails here, there is no where to hide.

Nancy Pelosi and President Obama have both spoken to the fact that they believe in a health insurance mandate. The president compared it to auto insurance requirements saying that this was the same as having required auto insurance. Let me address this briefly and then I’d love to hear your thoughts.

First of all, the Federal government does not (and would have no right to) require auto insurance. That is governed by the states. Your state has a requirement that if you have a registered vehicle, you are required to carry a certain amount of insurance, usually to cover someone else in the event you cause an accident. States like Florida where I live also require some form of Personal Injury Protection to cover some of your own medical bills. If you don’t carry the required insurance, you lose your driving privilege and your license is suspended until you get insurance. Remember driving is not a right, it’s a privilege. But if you say, “screw it I’m done driving I don’t want it”, you can go the rest of your life without ever having auto insurance again.

Second, in my state, if you put up a bond with the state for a certain amount, you don’t have to carry insurance. Essentially you are self-insuring. This is similar to the wealthy who currently don’t have health insurance. They don’t feel that financially they need it. They can afford to live without it and they should have the right to live that way. Pelosi and Obama don’t want to give you that right or that power, because power is what they’re after. They want control of the health care in our nation because that’s the fastest way to socialism.

Third, moving away from the auto insurance comparison, an insurance mandate is completely unconstitutional. If you pay any attention to the people on the right you’ve heard this over and over. I agree completely that it’s not lawful for the Federal government to mandate that an individual purchase anything, insurance or otherwise. If any kind of mandate passes, I hope our states flex their sovereign muscles and make them back off.

My final point is more about a government option rather than a mandate. The mandate is just a way to force people to accept their government option. I’ve made the case that a government option will not compete with the private sector but will in fact destroy it. I’ll go further to say this, I believe that if the Federal government gets the control they want over our health care, the entire world will suffer. The only reason most health care systems today survive is because of the innovations made by our free market system. If you took that away, innovation would suffer and medical care world-wide would decline in quality. The United States does more to promote health and wellness in the world than any other nation. Screw up that and we will see a downward spiral in which all of humanity suffers.
