The young conservative seems to be an endangered species and is often considered extinct. Most young people are assumed to be liberal and most conservatives are thought to be old rich guys. We stand in direct contrast to this stereotype. We want to be the voices crying out to be heard. We are thinkers and not followers. We ask questions and pursue nothing other than truth. We value hard work and believe in responsibility. We know there are more people like us out there. If you are one of these people, join us and let your voice also be heard.

At Freedom and Liberty we believe in you, not us. We believe in God, not the government. We believe in our founding documents, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, not strictly judicial precedent. While some things grow outdated with time, like cars, clothes and music, we believe some things like the Constitution are far too timeless to be treated like just an outdated piece of paper, that we have evolved beyond and replaced with the will of our current lawmakers. While we believe the rights granted to us by our Founding Fathers to be self explanatory, we also believe that many of these rights are under attack and being constantly ignored and infringed upon by an over reaching, intrusive Federal Government. We believe that WE THE PEOPLE have more than enough intelligence and common sense to govern our lives as we see fit, so long as we do not infringe upon the God given rights of others granted to us by our founders.

Conservatives Care

Contrary to what the “others” want you to believe, conservatives care. We believe in charity and good works but that these things should not be forced, they must be taught and embraced. When it is forced, it contradicts the definition. We care so deeply for our fellow man that we are willing to stand up for them and bring them out of oppression. We want the opportunity to help them, to strengthen them and to love them. That is our duty in life. It belongs to us not the government. We can use our money and resources to do more good than the government could ever do. We are shouting, “Give us our money back so we can be productive and make a difference!”

Poverty Will Not Be Solved By Government

While government wars on poverty and hunger are well intentioned they rape the public of the satisfaction of choosing when and to whom to give. We believe that there is something wrong with the Government taking what we work for and giving it to someone else. Government welfare births dependence and ultimately slavery. Government programs are wasteful pits of bureaucracy and red-tape. There has never been a government program which solved poverty and there never will be. Nearly 50 years after the original war on poverty there are more who are in need than ever before in this country. As Ronald Reagan said, if government programs are so effective and work the miracles they are proposed to work, don’t you think the government should “show us the score card every now and then?”

Failure Is A Valuable Lesson

We believe in the opportunity to pursue happiness and the opportunity to fail. We believe in failure because it brings great lessons and shows us the pathway to success. Success has many ups and downs. We want the opportunity to pursue the ups and to learn from the downs. Government bailouts only teach people that irresponsibility doesn’t matter when your government feels you are too big to fail.

Big Governments Control Their Citizens

We live in a country where the government has become far to intrusive in almost every way imaginable. This government seeks to dictate far more than originally intended by even the most “progressive” of our founders. The government of today does far too much taking, and an equally absurd amount of giving. Not every problem in this nation can be solved with a government program, a new law, or a new government bureau. We believe that when a government gains control, it does not give that control back and the people lose their liberty. Powerful governments desire control and they will use every opportunity to gain control over it’s citizens. Liberty requires a small government which allows the people to remain independent.

Term Limits For All

Our government was created to be of the people, by the people and for the people. They answer to us, they work for us. We do not work for them. Those who serve in our government should be of the people, meaning they come from us and they return to us. This means that when one achieves a role in the forming of laws, they should know that whatever laws they adopt while in office, they will be forced to live within the bounds of these laws themselves in the not too distant future. This is why we advocate term limits for every single elected public servant. No more career politicians. Term limits on ALL public officials is the quickest and most effective way to root out special interests and corruption in government. While this will not solve every problem in this area, knowing their time is short will ensure all lawmakers act in the best interests of the people, to whom they will return when their term expires. They should not be able to sit in Washington DC for decade after decade of imposing their will on others, without having to see the results of their actions in their lives and their communities.

Life Is The Most Precious Thing

We believe that the most precious things in this world is the LIFE given to us by our creator and that LIFE must be protected at all costs. It is not the government’s job to tell us that one human being is less deserving of a chance at life because a mother and father are unwilling to live with the consequences of their actions. While some lives are created unwillingly, that does not make them less worthy of the chance of turning tragedy into prosperity.

Religious Freedom

We believe religion is an important part of our country and our culture. We do not believe that any religion has the right to oppress another or force anyone to follow them. Freedom of religion is essential to our lives, our society and our world. We must be free to practice and share our religion without interference from an oppressive government. History has shown time and time again that when a government involves itself with religion it destroys the faith and value of that religion.

Equality, No Matter What

Prejudice and hatred are the natural enemies of freedom. Whether it be based on gender, religion, race or whatever, they can not exist in a free society. We believe that all men and women are equal. They deserve equal justice, opportunity and consequence. We believe that justice is blind and when administered, only the law should be considered. In every sector of our lives, equality is essential.

Responsibility

We believe in personal responsibility. That responsibility means that you pay the consequences for your actions. The punishment should fit the crime but the crime must result in punishment. When people are held responsible for their actions they learn to govern themselves and become greater and stronger people. Society benefits from personal responsibility.

Immigrants Are Welcome

We welcome people of the world into our country. If they choose to come, they must come legally. They must be prepared to contribute to our society. Legal immigration has always benefited everyone. Illegal immigration is destructive and dangerous. We must protect our borders today more than ever. It’s time for our government to stop playing with our lives.

Peace In Our Land

Violence is never the answer to a domestic problem. We live in a society that can peacefully resolve it’s problems. Many died before us so that we may live in peace. With that said, every person has the right to bare arms and defend their lives, family and property from criminals who will never put down their guns. There exists no law that will take guns out of the hands of these criminals, nor will there ever. Gun control only forces honest Americans to be defenseless and vulnerable.

Confront Our Enemies

We believe that while most problems can not be solved by violence, those who turn to violence can not always be stopped through “summits” and “dialogue”. There are people in this world who have dedicated themselves to violence and the destruction of our freedom through that violence. These people must be met with a strong military force. They must be confronted using tactical military engagement. They must be stopped so our world can see peace and freedom.

Knowledge Is Essential

Freedom and ignorance can not co-exist. People must educate themselves and share with one another what they’ve learned. We desire to learn from each other. We want to share our knowledge with you and to hear what you have learned. We believe there are many out there just like us who feel they are not being heard or that they have no voice. We want to be a voice and we want to give you a voice.

We Are Different

At Freedom and Liberty, we are a different breed of conservative. We are like you. We love our families, our communities and our God. We are young and we demand that our voices be heard. We are the future of this country, and we must have our stake in shaping the future that our children and grandchildren will live in. We will not sit idly by on the sidelines while the values that Washington, Franklin, Adams, and others held so dear are thrown into the fire for the sake of “progression”. We ask that you join with us, stand up, let your voice be heard. WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK AND WE ARE NOT AFRAID TO TAKE IT. We are Freedom and Liberty, and we are not your grandfather’s conservatives.
