Breakin’ the law, breakin’ the law…that you co-sponsored?
Have we really come to this? It no longer matters, not only if you are breaking a law, but it no longer matters if this law comes from a bill that you CO-SPONSORED??!! Truth is, the truth only matters when it is politically expedient and I see no more glaring example than this.
Victim: Gerald Walpin
Accused: The Obama Administration, and yes Barry himself.
Gerald Walpin is the (was the) Inspector General of the United States. He was fired by the Obama administration after he…..was at a meeting in which “Mr. Walpin was confused, disoriented, unable to answer questions and exhibited other behavior that led the Board to question his capacity to serve.” Surely there is more to this story…Oh and there is…Mr. Walpin responded to the administration by saying, “Anybody who’s heard me speaking more than I’m used to speaking on radio and TV in recent days, obviously under great pressure from what happened would clearly know that I know what I’m saying and what I’m doing and I’m not incoherent. There’s nothing confusing about malfeasance and there’s nothing confusing about what appears to be the fact that they terminated me because I was doing my job because the White House wanted to protect people who proclaim they are friends of the White House”
Now would a guy who is “confused, disoriented” and having his “capacity to serve” questioned really use the word “malfeasance” in a sentence? I mean come on, I’m just saying, these are SAT words here guys!
In all seriousness, here is the back story. Kevin Johnson is the mayor of Sacramento, Cali-fohn-ya and also a big Obama supporter. Hmm an Obama supporter in California, who woulda thunk it. Mr. Johnson defrauded the government (didn’t account properly for the use of, or use in the way they were intended) of over 400,000 dollars in community service grants. What’s more is that after illegally using the first 400,000 dollars he was given ANOTHER deal by the White House which allowed him to manage MORE federal funds AND avoid paying back at least half of the grant money he used illegally!! Wow imagine that. In the days of hopenchange apparently it’s only wrong to “misuse” funds if you are a Republican or a big mean Wall Street fat cat or an employee of AIG. Wish I would have known this ahead of time.
Now, Mr. Walpin went to Congress about this and insisted on investigating Mr. Johnson, at which point the White House told him that he had an hour to resign or be fired. Intimidation much? To me, investigating an ally of the Obama administration hardly seems like reason to be fired from a supposedly NON PARTISAN position!! He is hired to uphold the law, NOT uphold the Obama administration’s nice guy image. To add insult to injury, they don’t just fire the guy, the call him senile, incompetent and question his “ability to serve”.
Oh and here is the kicker. Remember back when big bad Bush was the president and he fired those 8 U.S. Attorneys? (http://blog.buzzflash.com/alerts/182) Oh well that was just an abomination! That was terrible! That was immoral! But get this, it was perfectly legal. In fact, not only was it legal, Bill Clinton did the exact same thing that Bush did, only he fired 93 without reason, Bush fired 8. (http://www.timeswatch.org/articles/2007/20070320115750.aspx) Do we see a trend here?
After this happened, then Senator, Obama co-sponsored legislation saying that the President must gives proper reasoning for firings such as these. Reasoning given for Mr. Walpin’s dismissal? He is “incompetent” as determined by the Obama administration, who apparently now makes perfect cars, runs perfect businesses, and also starting today, evaluates mental health. No assistance needed from actual doctors of course. Double standard much? This is a dishonest, Soviet style hit job on a seemingly honest man only trying to do his job. Honesty? Integrity? Responsibility? Hah, that’s for campaign speeches, not real life.
I’m just sayin…
